The Montreux Knebworth pedal was designed to be the ultimate Marshall style distortion box.  We think they pretty much nailed it.  It pulls off very convincing JCM800 and Bluesbreaker style sounds thru' pretty much any style amp.  The wide range of EQ capability lets to tweak almost any size or style of amp to generate great marshall sounds. 

The addition of the 20 dB boost has multiple uses; at high volumes it fattens things nicely for rhythm work while at lower volumes it almost acts like a loudness control.  It brings the bass level up really nicely to move some air even at really low volumes.
