Alexander Pedals Syntax Error XP
Brands:
Welcome to the next iteration of lo-fi chaos: the Alexander Syntax Error XP. It’s a strategic pivot in our audio disruption roadmap, optimizing for maximum pedalboard real estate efficiency while maintaining that signature dial-up aesthetic. This isn’t just a noisemaker, it’s a comprehensive audio transformation platform designed to help you create your very own arcade soundtrack using guitar, bass, keys, or whatever. Alexander deployed an assignable LFO modulation system that unlocks unprecedented creative possibilities while streamlining the workflow for agile sonic deployment.
Syntax Error XP features eight sound modes, each with its own set of tweakable parameters.
SOUND MODES:
STRETCH — Glitchy buffer madness: records your signal and plays it back at variable speed and direction for dialup tones, twisted echoes, and laser bird chaos.
AIR — Simulates early low-memory rack reverbs with added sample-crush dirt, pitch shifting, and grainy diffusion textures.
RING — Ring modulator ranging from tremolo to gonging robot sounds, with a sample & hold that randomizes the carrier for unpredictable space-droid weirdness.
CUBE — Digital distortion via math, paired with a resonant filter for dialing in everything from subtle grit to genuinely gruesome tones.
FREQ — Frequency shifter (not pitch shifter) that applies a fixed Hz offset, producing phaser-like tones, cascading echoes, or straight-up out-of-tune madness depending on feedback settings.
WAVE — FM-style modulation that warps your signal's frequency, landing anywhere between vibrato and clangy percussive mess; especially interesting with drum machines.
GLITCH SHIFT — Pitch shifting with all the safety rails removed, plus a BARF control that introduces artifacts no well-behaved pitch shifter could produce.
DYNAMIC — Envelope-controlled sample crusher that automatically adjusts sample rate based on your playing volume, with separate rate targets for quiet and loud signals.
The Leap Series improves upon our popular Neo Series platform in lots of ways, including:
-
Stereo audio input and output with phase correction
-
Low-noise direct-coupled audio path
-
Improved audio headroom and frequency response
-
FXCore DSP with more than 8 times the processing power than our previous Neo Series pedals
-
32 onboard presets (4 banks of 8 presets each,) all accessible on the pedal without the need for external controls.
