1981 Inventions DRV2
Brands:
The DRV2 is a highly nuanced preamp/distortion pedal.
From Matthew Hoopes:
"This is a high quality and unique distortion pedal in sound and design. To me, this circuit really shines in the lower gain stages, and has a lot of clarity and character. One of my favorite sounds is zero gain, barely clipping cleans, but I also love the middle range of rock guitar sounds, all the way up to almost fuzz.
So I’ve been working on this V2 circuit of DRV for more than a year now, and I finally got it right. Instead of trying to exactly copy the original circuit, I decided to make some changes. I've been using this version personally with my band, and I love it.
I've had some genius help with this circuit. Recently, it has been redesigned and engineered by John Snyder of Electronic Audio Experiments (who also did the LVL circuit). Both are friends and geniuses. I see this version as an improvement in every way. It's quieter (less noise), more efficient, and can also run at 9v or 18v."
Internal switch to select true-bypass (almost always worse, but sometimes better!)
These pedals (from this batch) are hand assembled by Jack, AWOL, and Matthew, in Nashville, TN.
Runs on 9v standard (boss style) power. Battery clip or power supply is not included. An isolated power supply is recommended.
